A/N: Before I introduce this post, I’d just like to say thank you to everyone that took the time out to read my blog, share it on social media (so far) and write to me on social media. I really appreciate it!
I decided to do another #AskNeish post, since it was long overdue. I made the hashtag (on Twitter) to answer any questions anyone has on gaming, comics and overall in the nerd and geek culture that they want me to answer. Here are a few more for you to see my answers to and for you to answer as well. Continue reading →
When I first started this blog, all I wanted to write about was being a comic book and gaming geek. A short time before that, my writers block slowly started to subside as I gradually gained inspiration from Twitter (after joining in September of 2014), and I began to write for Afropunk and We The Nerdy before thinking about starting my own blog.
After starting this blog, I noticed that my creativity has come out a bit more. I’m open to exploring anything and everything creative, while enjoying what inspires me. [On the blog] I tend to write about topics incorporated into my everyday life. I know I don’t update every day, but I feel that if I did write a blog every day (as oppose to when I’m inspired), I won’t give you a good quality blog post. Instead I’d feel obligated to just posting random news and updates, which can get really boring very quickly. Continue reading →
A/N: This post is for the ladies and the lady boys who love the classics and love beauty…
While browsing Vintage Vandalizm‘s tumblr, I came across a post with several images of black burlesque dancers linked to Vintage Gal‘s tumblr page. After exploring Vintage Gal’s tumblr even further, I was blown away by the vintage photos that were posted on the tumblr blog. I love looking at vintage photos/images; they inspire me and help my creativity. (I’ll be sure to start showing my creativity again soon, I promise!)Continue reading →
E3 2016 was the first year I wasn’t very enthusiastic about the gaming conferences as a whole. Although I’m a PC gamer, the Microsoft and Sony E3 conferences were the most exciting for me. My Twitter certainly showed my excitement with active live tweeting that pursued all day as well as my interaction with other gamers who follow my Twitter page and who were just passing by.
I wished this list was longer, but many of the games didn’t catch my interest this year. I hope while many of them are in development the future updates change my mind and I become excited over the ones that didn’t make this list. Continue reading →
Sorry for the slight intermission. I took a slight “Internet Break” to ease my mind and improve my art. During that time, I’ve gotten quite a few #askneish questions in my private messages (because some people wanted to remain anonymous). Before you read this set of questions, be sure to check out the first batch here before reading: Continue reading →
Wilson’s Smart Football Brings The Big Game To The Backyard [via Engadget]
Are you ready for some football?!
I know I am! Superbowl 50 is happening, tonight at 6:30pm at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California (or if you’re watching it on TV: CBS). Well, Wilson wants to help with that experience. Recently, Engadget reported, “Wilson, which released a smart basketball last year, is expanding its connected sporting good repertoire to the realm of football.” The Wilson X Connected Football, “is embedded with sensors that can measure stats like distance, speed, spiral efficiency and spin rate. It’s smart enough to know if it’s caught or dropped and can transmit said information to a companion app via Bluetooth.”Continue reading →
A/N: this is a gender biased post. I’m not bashing men, but I am empowering female gamers. No flaming or trolls, please.
I remember back in grade school, when I was judged and teased for playing video games. I don’t know what it was about being a girl who played video games, but for most it wasn’t the ‘norm’. Let’s jump to the present: although there have been studies that show that women game more than men nowadays, some still take it upon themselves to judge the women that do play video games.
I took it upon myself to list five commandments for all women that play video games. I’m sure most women feel the same way I do, whether they voice their opinions (or not). Although I know there will be disagreements with this piece, I hope (mostly) everyone is on the same page. Continue reading →
